Lost strongholds fall to Liberals

The NSW Labor Party lost its heartland on Saturday, as vast swathes of western Sydney, the Illawarra, Central Coast and the Hunter Valley fell to the Liberal-Nationals Coalition.

The NSW Labor Party lost regions once considered impregnable as vast swathes of western Sydney, the Illawarra, Central Coast and the Hunter Valley switched to the Liberal-Nationals Coalition.

The Coalition picked up a string of seats in western Sydney, including the urban-rural fringe seats of the Blue Mountains, Londonderry, Wollondilly and Camden, Riverstone in Sydney’s outer north-west, Mulgoa in the outer west, Campbelltown, Parramatta and Smithfield.
