I only wish that the Albanese government and the democratic nations of the Indo-Pacific heed Richard Maude’s sage advice on how to counter Chinese influence and ambitions in the Indo-Pacific (“Why the Albanese government needs a formal Indo-Pacific strategy”, July 20).

Unfortunately, I think it’s probably too late to formulate a coherent and united strategy.
