As public school teachers across the country start yet another term with unmet school resourcing needs due to an unresolved underfunding crisis, they will have more than just crippling workloads and an exhaustive administrative burden to contend with. It seems that they will also have to cope with a renewed disdain for their profession from the media.
Since the findings of the Productivity Commission’s review of the National School Reform Agreement were released last week, a barrage of unfounded criticism and bad-faith attacks have been unleashed on teachers, including in the pages of The Australian Financial Review.
