Labor’s construction sector crackdown will extend to builders found aiding CFMEU thuggery, as industry groups warned the looming takeover of the militant union’s construction division needed to go further to stamp out lawlessness.

Workplace Relations Minister Murray Watt is exploring options to stop builders and contractors from allegedly paying kickbacks to win union favour, ahead of legislation due this week to put the CFMEU’s Victorian, NSW, Queensland and Tasmanian construction divisions into administration.
