The federal government and opposition remain locked in talks over a proposal for substantial increases to aged care fees for those with the means to pay, but are hopeful of a breakthrough as early as next week.
The government presented the opposition with its proposal to increase fees for both residential and home care, based on an increased use of means-testing, at the time of the federal budget.
