Delayed review tests bipartisan support for aged care reform

Bipartisan support for reforming the aged care system is starting to fray, with the opposition accusing the government of “hiding a secret tax on older Australians” by refusing to release a long-awaited review.

The review by the government’s aged care task force, which will recommend a shift towards user pays in a bid to keep the system sustainable, was supposed to be released in January. The government will not say when it will appear.
