“Just call me Bill”, Australia’s newest vice chancellor Bill Shorten says with a grin when asked if he will assume the title of professor as head of the University of Canberra.

“Generally, what I find is that when I’m in trouble, I’ll be Mr Shorten. But otherwise, just Bill,” the former Labor minister says.
