  • Open hostilities between Israel and Iran entered a fourth day on Monday with no sign of easing.
  • Since Friday, 224 people have been killed in Iran, according to the government, which said most of the casualties were civilians. Iranian attacks have killed 17 people in Israel and injured more than 400, Israel’s emergency services said.
  • Iran announced it had launched some 100 missiles on Israel early on Monday, targeting the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva near Tel Aviv and the northern city of Haifa.
  • Israel said that in response its fighter jets had struck 10 command centres in Tehran belonging to Iran’s Quds Force, an elite arm of its Revolutionary Guard that conducts military and intelligence operations outside Iran.
  • A man suspected of assassinating a Minnesota lawmaker Saturday and of shooting another has been arrested.
  • World leaders are gathering in Calgary, Canada ahead of the G7 Summit. Anthony Albanese met with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney on the sidelines of the event.
