Bill Shorten says he'll become personally involved if need be in negotiating Labor's controversial tax changes through the Senate, should he win the May 18 federal election.
Mr Shorten said while he would rely on his "great Senate team'' to get the job done, he would be prepared to step in, drawing on his trade union experience.
