If you thought Albo looked a tad evangelical in his victory speech last night, the style and content did work pretty well for him among evangelical Christians, who seem to have delivered two-party preferred majorities for Albo in mixed rural-urban seats in Queensland and Tasmania, such as Leichhardt, Bonner, Longman and Braddon.
This election was bookended by an interest rate cut at the start of the campaign when the Coalition held a winning margin over Labor and ended with inflation clearly under control and a foreshadowed second cut at the next Reserve Bank of Australia meeting.
