Mark McGowan’s decision to quit as Western Australian Premier is even more of a shock than his radical slamming shut of state borders to counter COVID-19.
McGowan’s explanation at his unexpected press conference Monday afternoon was that he was feeling “just exhausted” after nearly 27 years in parliament and six years as Premier, including the three years of COVID.
