Women to get $5000 in new emergency support payments

Women seeking to escape violent partners will get access to up to $5000 in new emergency support payments, as the Albanese government tries to rein in Australia’s escalating domestic violence crisis.
This month’s federal budget will include more than $925 million over five years of extra financial support for people leaving violent situations, as well as new safety assessments and referrals to support services.
