Economic aspiration the key to Labor political success: Fitzgibbon

Outgoing Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon says his party needs to encourage economic aspiration, focus on national security and “back our major export industries”, including coal, if it is to win the next election.
The outspoken Mr Fitzgibbon, confirmed on Monday he would not recontest his NSW seat of Hunter the next election, bringing to an end a 25-year career of which just six were spent in government.
