Fresh tensions have erupted with Beijing after Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton  delivered a broadside against China's Communist Party for orchestrating a series of cyber attacks, intellectual property theft and efforts to muzzle academic freedom.

In the strongest criticism of China's ruling regime by an Australian minister, Mr Dutton said China's conduct was at odds with Australian values and warnings about their behaviour should be heeded.
