Dutton argues the case for nuclear energy, but cost still unknown

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says that although the Coalition’s nuclear ambitions will have a significant upfront cost, the 80-year lifespan of each plant means they will outlast renewable electricity sources several times over.

In a speech to a Committee for Economic Development lunch in Sydney on Monday, Mr Dutton will reject Labor’s attacks on the Coalition’s energy plans as “juvenile”, but will not release its detailed costings.
