Dutton admits soliciting free ride on Rinehart’s jet, backs McKenzie

Peter Dutton says he will not sack opposition transport spokeswoman Bridget McKenzie if it turns out she has failed to disclose free flight upgrades, as scrutiny of the acceptance and pursuit of perks by politicians spreads to the Coalition.

The opposition leader also conceded on Thursday that his staff asked for the free use of billionaire Gina Rinehart’s private jet to travel from Queensland to Sydney for a memorial service.
