Crisis support services for women and children experiencing domestic violence are so stretched that some victims reporting harm never receive a response, an expert review has told the Albanese government.

Commissioned by national cabinet after the Bondi stabbings and a spate of high-profile deaths in domestic violence cases around the country, the rapid review of prevention approaches on Friday recommended better promotion of healthy masculinity and called for new strategies to counter the growing influence of online misogyny targeting men and boys.
