Competition watchdog gets $30m boost for supermarket probe

The competition watchdog has received a $30 million funding boost to investigate misleading and deceptive pricing practices and other unconscionable conduct in the country’s supermarket sector.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the additional funding after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission last week accused supermarket giants Woolworths and Coles of misleading shoppers through sham discounting.
