Clare to states on school funding: ‘There are no blank cheques’
The battle brewing between education ministers over funding for public schools while narrowing the performance gap between students from rich and poor backgrounds threatens to turn into a debacle similar to the Gonski reforms, with little tangible return for the billions in additional spending.
The Albanese government wants to link reforms that will improve the educational outcomes of all children, particularly the most disadvantaged, in return for an increase in funding.
