Australia and the European Union have until Christmas to reach a deal on a free trade agreement, or the window will be closed for a long time, Trade Minister Don Farrell believes.
Speaking after the latest failed attempt to broker a deal in Brussels, Senator Farrell said domestic political pressures created by the June 2024 election for the European Parliament would make negotiating a deal almost impossible.
