To its credit, Sky News employed journalist Cheng Lei following her release from a Chinese jail last year. To its even greater credit, Sky had her in Canberra on Monday to cover the visit of Li Qiang, the first by a Chinese premier in seven years.

Cheng had been imprisoned for more than three years on what were regarded by the Australian government, among others, as trumped-up national security charges, motivated by the political fallout between the two countries.
