Callum’s $78k student debt is proof HECS is broken

Young people are carrying an outsized debt burden due to an unfair student loan system, says independent senator David Pocock, and a simple change to the timing of when indexation is applied could save students and graduates hundreds of dollars a year.

Pocock said Labor had failed to correct one of the most egregious policy errors in recent history – changes to the student loan system introduced by the Morrison government, which are driving up tuition debts to unprecedented levels.
