Newly appointed digital minister Stuart Robert is calling for a national approach to digital infrastructure, saying governments across the country have systems akin to different state railway gauges stymieing economic development.

Mr Robert’s push for governments to co-ordinate their emerging digital systems comes as he said the federal government’s new single app for all services was being targeted to go live by the end of the year.
