Labor and the Coalition are on a unity ticket on the cost of living in the byelection race for the Gold Coast seat of Fadden, but many voters are simply annoyed they’re going back to the polls just 14 months since the federal election.

The Coalition is expected to retain former minister Stuart Robert’s seat – which it holds on a margin of 10.6 per cent – although anything short of a drubbing for Labor could still be a major headache for Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.
