Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil is working on business-friendly solutions to critical worker shortages, such as making it easier for multinationals to bring in overseas executives, but concedes fixes to the broken migration system are a way off.

In a landmark speech about the shape and strategic direction of migration in Australia, Ms O’Neil said the system was broken.
