The Albanese government is pushing business leaders to actively campaign for an Indigenous Voice to federal parliament, with incoming minister Linda Burney saying corporate support will be critical to achieving a national consensus ahead of the looming referendum.

More than five years after the Uluru Statement from the Heart was first released, Labor has promised a genuine partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, including the full implementation of the statement’s goals of a Voice to Parliament, a truth and reconciliation process and a treaty with Indigenous communities.
