Australian MPs demand sanctions against Myanmar coup leaders

Canberra | Coalition MPs are urging the Morrison government to take tougher action against Myanmar’s military coup ringleaders, including via individual sanctions and by offering asylum to Burmese nationals living in Australia.
A parliamentary inquiry has also recommended Canberra engage with Myanmar’s government-in-exile, the National Unity Government, as well as push for a global arms embargo.
