The best paid civil servant in the country earns more than $2.5 million in pay and bonuses, while the salaries of wealth fund managers have outstripped the Reserve Bank boss, the government has revealed.

Australia Post boss Christine Holgate took home $2.565 million in 2018-19, up from $1.646 million last year. The increase was off the back of $300,000 in extra bonuses and $224,500 in other long-term benefits.
