AUSTRAC to crack down on digital services in 2024

Popular payment platforms and digital currency exchanges such as Binance and Swyftx will come under intense scrutiny next year when the financial crime watchdog launches a crackdown on poor compliance.
Citing the proliferation in digital services, AUSTRAC acting chief executive Pete Soros said the best approach was to engage early with platforms before they were abused by criminal groups.
