Greens housing spokesman Max Chandler-Mather has acknowledged his opposition to the government’s $10 billion social housing fund is motivated by fomenting broader civil dissent against the growing wealth gap, prompting Anthony Albanese to label him and his party as policy frauds.
In a series of increasingly testy exchanges caused by the Greens’ refusal to pass the Housing Australia Future Fund legislation, the Prime Minister quoted an article by Mr Chandler in the socialist Jacobin magazine in which he said refusing to pass the HAFF Bill was “the only immediate leverage” the Greens had to force action on rents.
