AI a Trojan horse for more IR regulation, business warns

Business groups and CEOs are warning against allowing trade unions to use artificial intelligence as a Trojan horse to implement greater regulation of industrial relations, as an outcome of next month’s productivity summit.

With sharp divisions between business and the union movement over how hard AI should be regulated, business delegates invited to the summit fear the burgeoning technology will be used as cover to push for unions to have veto power over the introduction of technologies in workplaces and expanded consultation rights.
