ACT Libs, lawyers, back calls to review Drumgold prosecutions
The federal opposition, the ACT Liberals and a growing number of Canberra lawyers are backing calls for a review of criminal cases prosecuted by Shane Drumgold, amid a widespread view the territory’s Director of Public Prosecutions will be sacked and even struck off.
As the ACT Labor/Greens government went to ground, refusing to comment while it prepared an official response to the Sofronoff inquiry’s findings into Mr Drumgold’s actions, ACT Liberal Opposition Leader Elizabeth Lee said the wider legal concerns must be addressed along with Mr Drumgold’s future.
