The Allan government has slashed by nearly a third the funding for the department that oversees what it claims are nation-leading emissions policies, as it tries to rein in Victoria’s public debt.
Treasurer Tim Pallas on Tuesday delivered a $15.2 billion deficit in his 10th budget and revealed net debt would grow from $156 billion next year to $188 billion by 2028.
