Client exodus from PwC grows as $70b super fund pauses work
HESTA, one of Australia’s largest super funds, has confirmed it froze work with PwC Australia on Wednesday.
First reported by Reuters, the $70 billion super giant is the latest to blacklist the firm amid a national scandal over its misuse of confidential government tax plans.
“HESTA is very concerned about what has emerged regarding PWC and are engaging directly with them. We continually assess service providers and currently restrict consideration of PWC for any new or additional service provision to the fund,” it said in a statement.
It joins AustralianSuper and Australian Retirement Trust in boycotting PwC as the fallout of the embattled accounting firm’s tax evasion scandal spreads.
