Albanese, Perrottet united on $800m Northern Rivers floods package

Two thousand homeowners affected by the deadly floods in the NSW Northern Rivers in February and March will be able to access land buyback schemes to relocate, and support to raise or flood-proof their homes, as part of an $800 million state and federal funding package boosting resilience.

As floodwaters still inundate large tracts of northern Victoria and south-western NSW, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet have united on a landmark reconstruction program to help seven northern NSW communities which are still reeling from the disaster.
