US Treasury secretary Janet Yellen pressed Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Australia’s refusal to sign up to a key part of global efforts to make multinational companies pay their fair share of tax.
Australia has declined to sign on to the transfer pricing element of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s global corporate tax overhaul due to concerns it will cost the federal government revenue.
