Anybody who lives in a tsunami prone area knows you can’t stop the wave once a cataclysmic event occurs – the best you can do is warn people who may get caught in the path.

In contrast to a sudden natural disaster, demographics literally move at the pace of daily life, it is something we can forecast a generation in advance.
Australia’s ageing population – often referred to as a silver tsunami but perhaps better thought of as a retirement tsunami – has been rolling slowly across our shores for decades. We live in the age of ageing.
