Another day, another COVID-19 record. There were nearly 1500 new cases across NSW and Victoria on Thursday. Not that anyone should concentrate on daily numbers, according to Gladys Berejiklian. The focus must be on vaccination numbers and exit from lockdown rather than the paralysis of COVID-19 imprisonment.

The NSW Premier acknowledges recent political repetition of the “light at the end of the tunnel” phrase, but insists there’s good reason to be positive given the rapid acceleration in vaccinations.
