Suffering from pandemic fatigue? Well, get over it
After a relentless two years, we all want to put the pandemic behind us but moving on too quickly is dangerous.
Andrew WearIn the years after the Spanish Flu, the world moved on quickly, racing forward into the Roaring Twenties. Despite at least 50 million deaths, the pandemic was quickly erased from collective memory. It barely rated a mention in subsequent history books.
Similarly, we seem all too keen to move on from COVID-19, even though the pandemic continues, with a global death toll estimated by the World Health Organisation at some 15 million.
