Is there really a teacher shortage? The data disagrees

The national ratio of school students to teachers is at its lowest point ever, bringing into question claims about a national workforce shortage, says a senior analyst.

The ratio fell to 13.4 students to every teacher in 2021, down from 14.2 in 2006, according to data in the National Report on Schooling in Australia released on Monday.
