Fears of black market after vape imports banned

Vape stores in Melbourne and Sydney say there is widespread confusion over how and when they will be affected by the federal government’s ban on importing disposable single-use vapes.

The ban came into effect on January 1. It means that while imported disposable vapes will no longer be cleared for entry to Australia, regardless of when they were ordered, stores can legally sell products already on the shelf until the stock runs out.
