Djokovic wins deportation reprieve while visa case is heard

Men’s world tennis No. 1 Novak Djokovic won a three-day reprieve to stay in Australia on Thursday evening, after he was threatened with deportation when the government refused him entry to the country for not being vaccinated.

The tight border rules sparked a diplomatic incident on Thursday, as Djokovic had tried to enter the country after being told he had a medical exemption to compete in the Australian Open this month.
