Australian businesses should assume the omicron variant will replace delta and should prepare for the new phase in the pandemic, according to leading public health expert, Associate Professor Craig Dalton.

As early evidence points to omicron being highly transmissible, he suggests at a minimum that businesses improve ventilation, incentivise boosters, use better masks and close lunchrooms.
