What a difference a word makes. A little-known Minnesota governor calling Donald Trump and J.D. Vance “weird” effectively becomes the Democrat campaign slogan and helps propel Tim Walz to becoming vice presidential nominee.
Walz has apparently used the description regularly in his home state. But for a party desperately looking to target Trump in a way that resonates with voters, his down-to-earth language was transformed on the national media stage into the equivalent of a political magic wand.
