Right’s cancel culture distorts diplomacy

The government is under fierce attack for its UN voting patterns on Gaza, but it is voting in keeping with global norms.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong are facing unrelenting attacks over their handling of the Gaza crisis on many fronts.

With it a new low has been reached in Australian foreign policy debate on the Middle East: to support the two-state solution for Palestine and criticise the actions of the Israeli Defence Forces on Gaza is now deemed to constitute “antisemitism”.
