Initially a martyr of the left, for undermining public support for US foreign policy, Assange morphed into an unexpected hero of the libertarian right. An opponent of what they call the “deep state,” Assange’s cause was and is celebrated by Tucker Carlson, Robert F. Kennedy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Nigel Farage, the US Libertarian party and others.
