The national outpouring of grief and anger at the impact of the recent drought and horrendous bushfires over much of Australia is understandable but it is not the best platform to assess corporate risk or make policy decisions.

When Russell Crowe and other movie stars at the Golden Globe awards reinforce the popular perception that human induced climate change is the cause of the recent drought and bushfires, it is time for a reality check.
