The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s sixth assessment report, released on Monday night, provides yet another sobering assessment of the pace of global warming.

The IPCC said it should be a “reality check” for governments around the world to cut their carbon emissions, wean themselves off fossil fuels and embrace renewables on the march towards a low-emissions economy.
