Queensland has emerged as Australia’s leading carbon farming state, according to a first-ever national ranking of how jurisdictions are developing their land-based emissions offset markets.
Amid growing interest and scrutiny in the use of land-based projects to develop tradable carbon credits, the Carbon Markets Institute found there needs to be greater policy ambition and leadership to spur the sector.
