Aussie firm tapped to develop Indonesia’s nature trading market

Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund has tapped Sydney-based climate change investment group Pollination to help develop the country’s emerging market for tradeable credits and offsets based on actions that reduce carbon emissions and protect natural assets.

With $US8 billion ($12.3 billion) in funds already invested in “future focused” industries including green assets, the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) is expected to expand across all asset classes to $US25 billion in coming years. Some of that will come from monetising protection of the nation’s vast rainforests.
